At Spruce Ridge Dental, we are happy to partner with the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). If you’re already enrolled, you should receive coverage for a wide variety of services through your CDCP based on your income, from routine checkups and cleanings to dental crowns and more. You May Be Eligible If:

  • You’re a Canadian resident
  • You don't have private dental insurance
  • You have an adjusted family net income under $90,000
  • You and your spouse or common-law-partner filed your taxes in Canada last year and your family income has been assessed

What Does the Canadian Dental Care Plan Cover?

After you’ve been approved for the CDCP, you can start using your benefits right away. Typically, the plan will pay for part of the cost of a wide range of oral healthcare services, many without requiring pre-authorization. However, some services will request pre-authorization. The amount that the CDCP covers will be determined by your income, so you may need to cover part of or the full amount of certain services. Our team can help you determine exactly how much beforehand so you don’t receive any surprises.

Some of the services that the CDCP cover include:

  • Preventive: X-rays, dental cleanings and exams, emergency exams, fluoride treatments, dental sealants.
  • Restorative: Fillings, root canals, pulpotomies, gum disease treatment.

This isn’t a complete list of covered services, so be sure to check with our team to find out if your needed care will be either fully or partially covered.

Using Your Plan is Easy

Step 1: Qualify & Apply

First, confirm your eligibility and apply for the CDCP. Once you’re enrolled, give us a call!

Step 2: Book Your Appointment

Call or request your appointment online. Be sure to bring your CDCP details with you as well as your ID.

Step 3: We File the Paperwork

Don’t worry about dealing with any claims. We will submit claims directly to Sun Life under the CDCP.
